ES-TRIN, Article 19.08(9) - Sufficient number of first-aid kits

Question:
How many first-aid kits are considered sufficient to fulfil the requirements of Article 19.08(9)?

Answer:
Including the first-aid kit according to Article 13.02(3)(f), the total number of first-aid kits is considered to be sufficient when the following is applied:
- vessels with up to 50 passengers: 2 small kit,
- vessels with 51 to 300 passengers: 1 small kit + 1 large kit,
- vessels with over 300 passengers: 1 small kit + 2 large kits.

The kits should be located on logical places on the ship like the reception desk, galley, communal living quarters, wheelhouse.

As examples, the content of a large kit could be:
