Article 19.06 - Overlay between passenger areas, muster areas and evacuation areas
Is an overlay between passenger areas, muster areas and evacuation areas allowed for the design of passenger vessels, especially day trip vessels?
Yes, an overlay between passenger areas, muster areas and evacuation areas is allowed.
In the light of the experience gained, the whole passenger area complies with the requirements of Article 19.08(6) and is then considered as a muster area (in which fixed seats or benches are allowed). In case of emergency, passengers are already in the muster area. In other words, no need of two disjoint areas for passenger and muster areas.
