Article 13.05(15)(e) - Quantity of extinguishing agent relative to the room to be protected
Article 13.05 (15) (e) requires that “The quantity of extinguishing agent relative to the room to be protected is at least 120 g per m3 of the net volume of this room”
Moreover, a concentration of extinguishing agent greater than 120 g per m3 of net volume does not compromise the fire-fighting system’s effectiveness and safety and poses no danger to personnel. Therefore, in the event of any problems calculating the engine room’s net volume, it is still possible to use the engine room’s gross volume (which entails an overconcentration of extinguishing agent and higher cost).
